Building Your New Home Estero Style
By Harden Custom Homes 13 Jun 2018

While many people all over the country know about Naples and Fort Myers, Fl - Estero remains a little-known gem of a location to build and settle.

Located in Lee County, Estero is considered a village. It is home to just over 18,000 year-round residents as of 2018. The US Census Bureau lands the total acreage at just over 20 square miles.

Historically, Estero is fascinating. It was incorporated by Cyrus Teed and his followers of the Koreshan Unity. The believed that the earth was hollow and we lived on the outer crust, the inside containing celestial bodies. Along with the foundation of the Village now known as Estero, they also created the Progressive Liberty Party - both became legalized officially on September 1st, of 1904. While the Koreshans are no longer an active group the Koreshan State historic site and their original tract of land still stands and is open to the public as a beautiful park.

Today Estero remains mainly suburbs with beautiful homes and complexes surrounded by native Florida wildlife and horticulture. Fishing, kayaking, camping, canoeing, and many outdoor activities are readily available. Lovers Key Beach remains a popular spot to enjoy our amazing gulf view. With over 80 restaurants, great shopping, landmarks to visit, and events always happening year round. Estero has become a hot spot to build.

What’s being built in Estero?

What you can expect to see are modern, 1, 2, 3, 4, and even 5 and 6 bedroom homes. Raised ceilings, expansive lanais, pools encaged to keep the bugs out, pools with hot tubs and water features, double story homes, Spanish tile roofing, large garages, wide windows for light and view, raised townhomes with garages underneath, and slightly bigger lots than if you buy in some other areas of Florida where it feels more crowded.

Estero offers a laid-back lifestyle where the sun shines most of the time, people are friendly, and your neighbors care about the neighborhood and keeping up property values.

Overall if you would like to live in a tropical Paradise that isn’t overcrowded, Estero should be a consideration.
