Choosing the Best Layout for your Lifestyle
By Harden Custom Homes 30 Apr 2018

When it comes to building a home, choosing a layout that flows well with the way you live is important. Homes come in all shapes and sizes. There are lots of considerations.

How many members do you have in your family who will be living there? (determines how many bedrooms you will need) as well as asking yourself, would you like to have a guest room? Do you often get visitors from out of town?

Do you entertain? If the answer is yes, it may be best to choose a home style where the kitchen is open with a bar space attached to the great room or living area, that way food and drink can be passed through and set up easily as well as not disconnecting party guests in both rooms, forcing them to decide where to be but rather creating one open space for all to gather together.

How many bathrooms do you need? The master bath is a must, but what about the other bedrooms? Will they use a shared space or have their own? Will there be a powder bath for guests or a pool bath?

Will you be spending time on your new lanai? Do you love to BBQ, have outdoor gatherings? Sit and read, listen to music? Square footage is important to consider. Patios look much bigger empty. You need to consider the furniture layout you would like before settling for a space that isn’t quite what you ideally would like.

The majority of builders in Southwest Florida sell cookie-cutter homes, meaning they have preplanned designs and they don’t veer off of that plan. What you see is what you get. That's lovely if that design happens to be exactly what you want and need. But what if it isn’t?

That’s where Harden Custom Homes comes in. Though we do offer standard plans, we are proud to say that we can build anything (allowable within the laws of physics).
